You buy a case, a hub or a charger. Then it turns out to be the wrong size. That usually happens because you didn't know exactly which MacBook model you have. Below you'll find every model by series, from the latest MacBook Neo and MacBook Air M5 (2026) through to the oldest Intel models.
Tip: Once you know your model, find the right case, charger or accessory directly on our MacBook accessories page.

Frequently asked questions
Click the (Apple logo) in the top-left corner and choose "About This Mac". The chip type is shown immediately, e.g. "Apple M5" or "Apple M3 Pro". On an Intel Mac you'll see something like "Intel Core i7".
Yes. The model number is engraved on the underside of your MacBook, next to the serial number in small grey text. Enter the serial number at checkcoverage.apple.com to see the exact model.
It depends on your model. MacBook Air (M1/M2/M3/M4/M5) uses MagSafe 3 from 30W to 60W. MacBook Pro 14" needs 70W or 96W MagSafe 3; the 16" requires 140W. MacBook Neo and MacBook Air M1 charge via USB-C. Older Intel models use MagSafe 1 or MagSafe 2. The tables above show the recommended wattage per model. Browse our MacBook accessories too.
Apple released three new MacBooks in 2026. The MacBook Neo is a new entry-level model with an A18 Pro chip from €599. The MacBook Air M5 (13" and 15") features the M5 chip, Wi-Fi 7 and a new Sky Blue colour. The MacBook Pro M5 (14" and 16") runs on M5, M5 Pro or M5 Max; the M5 Max supports up to 128 GB RAM.
All MacBooks with Apple M1 or newer support the most recent macOS versions. Intel Macs have more limited support. Check Apple's website to see which macOS version your model supports as a maximum.
For most students, the MacBook Air M5 13" is the obvious choice: 1.23 kg, up to 18 hours of battery life and powerful enough for virtually everything. Students on a tighter budget can consider the MacBook Neo. Those who regularly edit video or code can step up to the MacBook Pro 14".
