Apple MagSafe 1 to MagSafe 2 converter
The MagSafe 1 and MagSafe 2 adapters do not differ in function and capacity. Only the connectors (connection to the MacBook) are different. The MagSafe 2 connector is flatter and wider than its predecessor, the magSafe 1. This is because Apple has made the latest range of MacBooks thinner than the predecessors. This transformation also required a new connector; the MagSafe 2. Both the MagSafe 1 and the MagSafe 2 have a magnetic connector, this has remained the same.
Keep using your MagSafe 1 charger
The MagSafe to MagSafe 2 converter lets you use the MagSafe connector on your LED Cinema Display, Thunderbolt Display, or MagSafe power adapter to charge your Mac with MagSafe 2. You do not have to worry about spending a fortune on a new MagSafe 2 charger. Thanks to the coverter you are able to continue using your older MagSafe 1 charger.
