esports organizations generate money similar to regular sporting events through advertising and sponsorship. Sponsors such as Intel, BMW, Coca-Cola etc are the reasons why esports continues to grow. Streaming is a popular way for ordinary individuals to make money, and if done well, it can become a full-time job. The prize pool that gamers get is the most important source of revenue for esports teams.

After all additional deductions have been made, the money is normally divided among the team members, including the player who won the pool cash award for the competition. Each player's portion of the prize money will be a small fraction of the total reward.
