How do I apply my screen protector?

What is a good screen protector and why do you really need to get one? Perhaps the most important question: how can I best apply the screen protector to my smartphone? In this blog we discuss it all.

A good screen protector for your smartphone is a must-have. It is one of the things you think of first after buying a smartphone, especially if it is expensive. Replacing or repairing a smartphone display costs a huge amount of money, sometimes almost as much as a new phone.

Material

Most screen protectors are made of scratch-resistant, tempered glass. Casecentive uses Asahi glass, known as reliable, high quality glass, definitely recommended!

Tempered glass is hardened thermally by exposing it to a high temperature and then cooling it down quickly. It can also be chemically toughened by a simple treatment.

The hardening (whether chemical or thermal) reduces the risk of scratches / breaks, providing excellent protection for your smartphone screen. It's like putting a second screen on your display, but of course much cheaper!

What is the best way to apply the screen protector to your smartphone?

For this tutorial, we will use the screen protectors from Casecentive. Japanese Asahi glass consists of several layers that provide extreme resistance. It has a hardness of 9H, resists fingerprints and is durable and shock resistant.

Step 1: Cleaning your screen

Use the included cloth to clean the screen of your smartphone. This is a very important step to be able to apply your screen protector correctly. You need to prevent dust from getting in between the screen and the screen protector. Dust particles can cause hard-to-remove air bubbles under the screen protector.

Step 2: Removing film from the screen protector

On the back of the tempered glass you will find a plastic layer to keep the function of the screen protector intact. Remove this so the screen protector can be applied.

Step 3: Alignment

Place the screen protector on your smartphone (an alignment bracket / jig is included with iPhone X / XS and later). Try to align the glass properly, starting with the speaker. You can use an installation and alignment support from Casecentive for the models: iPhone X / XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. This one will do the job for you.

Step 4: Pressing

Press the screen protector onto the screen to attach it. If bubbles form, try pushing them to the edge with a credit card or similar first to let the air escape while you still can. If this problem does not resolve itself, remove and clean the glass and screen and try again with another screen protector.

A few tips from SB Supply:

1 - Wash your hands to prevent dust/dirt from getting on the screen before installation.

2 - Use tape to remove dust from your screen.

3 - Use alcohol to clean your screen of bacteria, dirt and dust.

4 - Are you bothered by too much dust? Put down a bowl of hot water or go to an environment with high humidity, such as the bathroom.
